Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Hlobsile Ndlovui is confident that the 2010 World Cup will be successful. She continues to urge the nation to believe in ourselves. "I think this is the time when we should start believing in ourselves. Let us remove the negative thoughts and begin to believe; and support South Africa. Irrespective of the fact that our team failed to qualify for the biggest event in the world, we must therefore pay support to our closest neighbour - South Africa." The ministry's main focus now lies in promoting the event and in assuring awareness. ."
For many years the Somhlolo Stadium which is common ground, has formed the nucleus sporting events in Swaziland. International matches are frequently held there, and at weekends, it is the venue for the ever popular game of soccer. A few minutes away are the municipal tennis and squash courts at Coronation Park and in between is the Mbabane Club, popular with Swazis and expatriates alike and where diverse sporting facilitices are available.
Swaziland is generally a peaceful kingdom with low crime rate compared to her neighbouring states; and this is due to strict security personnel. Last December, the INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble agreed for the world police body to provide sniffer dogs to be used to enhance border security in Swaziland.
